Project Description
Econvivo is an innovative mobile application designed to revolutionize waste management in Santiago, by encouraging residents to separate their household waste, Econvivo aims to create a cleaner, more sustainable city.
The app connects users with a network of nearby recycling containers, making it easy to dispose of materials like paper, plastic, glass, and organic waste responsibly.
Empathy map
Problem: a user committed to recycling faces the difficulty of locating specific containers in their neighborhood. Available mobile apps do not solve this infrastructure problem.
Factual: That the user has the recycling points close to their home at hand, can find them on the map, makes the recruitment process easy, saves the recycling history and more. Accessibility to the app is also important. Chile has the goal of 65% of household waste being recycled by 2040.
Solution: Develop an application where a map can be displayed showing the available garbage cans near the user, which is an intuitive application and allows the person to save time.
Elevator pitch
In Chile, more than 80 thousand tons are recycled per year, equivalent to 8.5% of the plastic consumed per year. It is the second lowest recycling site of the 36 OECD member countries. It is the country in South America that generates the largest amount of garbage per person, reaching 1.26 kilos of waste per day. Waste reuse reaches 1% and Chile has the goal that 65% of houseåhold waste will be recycled in 2040.
